Emily Tani-Winegarden began her training in ceramics at Eden Prairie High School with teacher, Nancy Gallas. She now continues to grow in the arts as a soon to be studio art major with a management studies concentration graduate from St. Olaf College. Emily predominately works in the medium of ceramics, but includes painting, drawing, wood sculpture, filmmaking, digital design, and photography in her repertoire. She created a cup library for St. Olaf this 2015 summer and you can often find her in the studio making promotional cups. She also enjoys spending her time marketing through visual aids using photoshop and social media outlets. |
About EmilyI feel most accomplished when I create something that communicates a narrative or feeling. Recently, I am intrigued by the uniqueness of individual pieces working together to create large bodies of work. I have been developing the idea of having individually thrown cups stacked on top of each other and then glazed in a certain way to make a larger image.
